About Gena

Gena Baker currently resides in the desert in Placitas, New Mexico overlooking the beautiful Sandia Mountains with her husband, Doug.  She is the proud mother of two grown children and seven grandchildren.

She taught school for over 30 years working primarily with children with behavioral and emotional problems.  After her retirement, she was blessed to be able to assist her daughter in caring for and homeschooling her grandchildren. 

Gena has written educational and Bible curriculum including the Little Bitty Bible Buddies which was published in 2005 and is currently being revised.  Prior to that publication, in 2004, Gena founded the Tea with a Topic Ministry which provides an opportunity for women of all ages to get together and celebrate the goodness of God and his grace while discussing encouraging and sometimes sensitive topics over a cup of tea. Her newest project, Her Treasures: A Life Brand New, was birthed from those discussions and from her experiences listening to the hearts of the women that she has mentored over the years. She is a certified mentor using "The Exchanged Life" counseling approach.
